The first large-scale exposition of Hong Kong products to be staged in Russia, Style Hong Kong in Moscow, had its soft opening at the Manezh Exhibition Complex in the Russian capital. More than 200 Hong Kong companies took part in the historic exposition, September 25-28, led by Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Frederick Ma and organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (TDC).
Style Hong Kong in Moscow featured a wide variety of brand merchandise and lifestyle products. Fashion and fashion accessories, along with gifts and home products, lead the way. Electronics, electrical appliances and telecommunications equipment were also being featured.
Hong Kong design also found the spotlight at a special gala evening in Moscow. The show starred Kayi Cheung, Miss Hong Kong 2007, along with six top Hong Kong models: Eunis Chan, Kathy Chow, Jessie Leong, Mikki Yao, Rosemary and Severa M. They were showcased Hong Kong style for Russian government officials, business leaders, major buyers and distributors.
The Moscow fashion parade was also showcased the latest collections from Hong Kong fashion brand Moiselle and fur brands ALTIOLI, CRYSTOLINE, OSKARDY, KC Fur, MASSINI, MICHELLE FUR and SYMETRIE.
The Hong Kong models, featuring the latest designs from Bonita Cheung, Lu Lu Cheung, Diane Fries, Dorian Ho, Arthur Lam, Henry Lau and Walter Ma, were photographed in front of some of Moscow's historic landmarks, including the Kremlin, the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour and Hotel Ukraine.
Style Hong Kong refers to the TDC's flagship events in emerging markets. Launched in 2003, Style Hong Kong shows have been rolled out successfully in Dubai, Budapest, Beijing, Shanghai and Chengdu.
Along with the TDC, Style Hong Kong in Moscow was co-organised by the Hong Kong Exporters' Association and the Hong Kong Fur Federation. Supporting organisations included Delovaya Rossiya, RATEK and the Russian-Chinese Business Council.
