The Hong Kong Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2006 was held between 12 - 15 July 2005 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. It attracted more than 19,000 buyers from all over the world.

The buyers were kept busy at the fairground by the latest collections on display by 903 exhibitors. Seminars and fashion shows packed this Asia's premier clothing fair. Trend forecast agencies Worth Global Style Network and StyleCENTRAL, Exclusive Agent of Peclers Paris: HK/Singapore/Thailand, delivered directional presentations on 06/07 fashion colors and fabrics. A total of seven fashion shows were staged. The highlight of the Fashion Week was the Hong Kong New Fashion Collection Award 2005 and the YD Alumni Club Fashion Parade.

Creative ingenuity and market awareness were to the fore at the prize presentation of the Hong Kong New Fashion Collection Award 2005.?This was the event's fifth staging, and took place before a packed audience and panel of distinguished judges. Otto Tang of Rolls Group Ltd. was declared "Overall Winner" by chief judge, The Hon. Andrew Leung. Grace Tse of United Creative Co. was named "Contemporary Day-wear Winner", and she also received the "Best Application of Technology" Award sponsored by Lectra Hong Kong Ltd., while Sue Hui of Hang Chong Silk Trading Co. Ltd. picked up the top prize in the "Casual & Jeans-wear" category.

The versatility of denim was evident the 3rd night of Fashion Week at the YD Alumni Club Fashion Parade. Organised to raise the profile of the new generation of designers who have previously joined the Hong Kong Young Fashion Designers' Contest and are now members of the YD Alumni Club, the "Denim Evolution" show was a resounding success. An avant-garde, construction site-inspired setting complemented the youthful spirit and boundless energy of the clothes on parade.
